Dunedin, New Zealand

Dunedin is the second largest city in the South Island of New Zealand. Its main street is George Street where it runs for two and a half kilometres north-northeast from the Octagon in the city centre to the foot of Pine Hill. South of the Octagon, Princes Street continues the line of George Street south-southwest for 2km.

Last few days Daren and I went to the town to have a walk. City shops, University of Otago which is the only one university in Dunedin, restaurants and etc are located at the George street.

After that, we walked to the Octagon, the city centre of Dunedin. It is an eight sided plaza bisected by the George Street to the northeast and Princes Street to the southwest. Dunedin's significant buildings and institutions are located there for examples Dunedin Municipal Chambers (Dunedin Town Hall), Civic Centre and Public Library, the Regent Theatre (Dunedin's largest live theatre), Public Art Gallery, and St. Paul's Cathedral. Besides, there are some restaurants and bars. There is also provision for open-air dining. Daren always go to Barakah, one of the cafe bars at the Octagon with friends for high tea.

Then, Daren brought me to the railway station. The building of the railway station is much more beautiful compared to the one in Malaysia ^^

Before we go home, we went to the Happy Coin, a Korean shop to buy some snacks..

Long Distance Relationship

Well, I am gonna start my first post with a simple introduction about me and my other half, Daren.

A : " I don't think long distance relationship works la...... "
B : " I'm having a long distance relationship for 2 years. It can work!!"
C : " I don't know... As long as you happy then can la......... "
That's what people told me before I started my long distance relationship with Daren.

Daren was studying in New Zealand since secondary school and I was studying in Malaysia all the time. I was so lucky to meet him 2 years ago in Malaysia during Chinese New Year at a friend's house. He gave me a very good first impression and we started to go out a few times after that. After he went back to New Zealand, we still keep contact via webcam chatting, phone calling and emailing and then slowly both of us fell in love with each other. That's how our 2 years long distance relationship started!

Every year Daren came back to Malaysia and we had very good but short 2 months summer holiday together. This year, August I decided to visit him in New Zealand after I quit my job. Yea time past very fast, I have been in New Zealand for almost 3 months!!

Many people disagree with long distance relationship but I myself experienced it and I would say NEVER TRY, NEVER KNOW and the result might surprise you. Remember, once you try, NEVER GIVE UP EASILY!

First year together

 Second year together

 Third year together

If you ask me, how long distance relationship works? Based on my own experience, I would say : trust, appreciate, care, have the strong feeling to bear with each other no matter what and never give up easily!
